Kong's (NZ) Limited has recently relocated their office and warehouse from Glenlyon Avenue in Greerton to the growing Tauriko Industrial Park in Tauranga. Established in New Zealand in 1996 Kong's has been steadily expanding and outgrowing one building after another. The latest building boasts approximately 300m2 of offices and 1800m2 of warehouse with plenty of space to grow.
After having the land blessed the construction started in July 2008 and the staff gave up their long weekend to move in over Easter 2009, closing for only one extra working day to minimize disruption to customers.
The new building has been designed with lots of space and room for future growth. Moving a warehouse and office block takes a great deal of planning and hard work and is not an experience anyone wants to do too often.
The new Kong's building has many great features:
- Individual offices over 2 floors
- Large open plan office areas
- Showroom
- Large training room
- Archive rooms
- Kitchen and lunchroom
- Outdoor BBQ area
- Warehouse and Service Department
- Ample staff and visitor parking
- Outdoor Pond Feature
The warehouse exhibits a 16m high ceiling with storage racks reaching 10m high. The height and increased number of racks means Kong's can hold more stock than ever before. Access to stock has also improved, which means it can be restocked quicker and easier. This is all of benefit to Kong's customers as orders can be filled more efficiently. Warehouse Manager Clint Farrell explains, with more room to store excess stock this means that products are more likely to be readily available, which in turn means customer orders can be filled more quickly.
